What should you communicate to guests at Step 1 for online ordering?

At Step 1 of the online widget guests choose their category to get started.

At Step 1, consider mentioning;

  • Set the guest's expectation: A description of what is offered as part of this experience
    • Tip: It's great to have this information covered in more length (and with imagery) on your website
  • How is this delivered: Do you deliver, do guests pickup, is this delivered digitally, or a combination thereof?
  • Instructions: What to do next, for example:
    • Select your preferred date and time (for pickup or delivery), select your items at the next step, pay, enjoy.
  • Are there up-sells or cross-sells in this category?
    • It's possible to list multiple menu items across different categories, for example you might have a Cellar Door or Merchandise category which shows only beverages and clothing items when that's selected. However, it's still possible to list the Cellar Door or Merchandise items as up-sells or add-ons in your At Home or Take Away category.
